Caught between the past and future; programmed by culture and genetics we orientate and organise our lives using an underlying story which is threaded together one moment to the next. Catagorising and compartmentalising as we go. Most experiences forgotten before they reach consciousness. Others shoved to the side or remembered with heightened clarity.
Through her work Dare has delved into many different but interrelating topics including subjectivity, psychology, identity, time and perspective. Recently she has been occupied with the neurological and biological mechanisms centralised around the implications of being. This has lead the artist to re-examine the idea of identity. Through A Momentary Consideration the artist reflects, distills and consolidates the major themes of her arts practice.
This solo exhibition was shown at Art Collective WA 20 August – 12 September 2016
